Join MDDP Directors Jess & Emily for our first Happy Half-Hour with the Directors!

Once a month, MDDP parents are invited to a casual, 30-minute virtual conversation focused on different topics that offer insight into your dancer’s experience at MDDP. Each session will include helpful information, conversation, and time for questions.

October Topic: Inside the Dance Classroom

What Is Your Child Actually Learning?

We’ll take a closer look at what happens inside the dance classroom beyond learning choreography, including:

  • What goes into a typical dance class and why each part matters

  • What progress looks like at different ages and levels

  • The skills dancers develop beyond technique, including confidence, focus, teamwork, and independence

  • Why repetition and corrections are an important part of learning

  • How teachers determine when a dancer is ready to advance

  • What teachers notice and celebrate that parents may not always see

  • How parents can support their dancer’s growth at home

There will also be time at the end for parent questions and conversation.
